Nice vid bud 👏🏼 how did you manged to attached the awning to your weatherboard wall? Like no need for a backing board?
It's attached not to the walI, not to the plywod, not to the siding. To the house frame board between two floors. Done this way a couple times. So, I just trust to my experience. You can find answer if you read some comments where i was explained how it was done.
This is video I looking
Glad it helps you!
To the average viewer this looks ok. To the journeyman it is full of holes and mistakes…tools dont make the tradesmen. Years of education and experience do.
27 years experience working for me. Thank you!
Using a clever applying on your screw with a wood block . It will come out slowly and safe .
Thanks for advice!
Thanks!!
You bet!
I dont get people that laugh but dont say why they think this way is bad, all new waterproofing systems are installed under the mortar and tile, kerdi, all the new waterproofing membranes are bellow the tiles. Pre slope mud bed, liquid or paper waterproof membrane, then mortar and tile.... think about it, the old way was to do a pre slope bed, plastic liner on top, then another 1inch thick layer of cement/mud bed, then the mortar and tile, when the seal on the mortar wears out or it cracks, it goes to the bed liner, but not before it gets soaked up in the mud bed, cement is porous, and how does the water even travel through a thick cement bed when it reaches the plastic liner? that means water gets trapped, you get mold or bad smell from the trapped water, youre using the shower multiple times a day so you never give it a chance to dry, the old way doesnt make sense to me. I think its better this way, what do you think???
5 years people used it twice a day and love it.
@fixitall what is the plank size? Specifically the thickness
3/4" plywood (about 19-20mm)
@@FixitAll thank you. Amazing job and video.

👍👍👍
If that broken pipe had a slope it may last longer.
Very nice. Why the metal. Can I use wood the same way
Wood can be splitting by the screw. At list you can use plywood 1/2" thick × 3/4" wide and predrill holes for screws.
what's the music pls ?

Great work, but why wouldn’t you go back with the same length boards that were prior to damage?
Less work, less repair price to the customers. This wall around the house corner and not visible to the people. So no reason to spend a lot of time for installation fancy long pieces.
Muy didáctico el video, justo lo que buscaba.
¡Gracias por ver el canal!
3 years old now, I bet that entire T is gone by now, it was looking rough.
Looks like no, becouse customer doesn't call me.
Wow, well, no backups will keep it lasting longer! May it last another 10 years!
Wax rings may be more difficult to install, but they seal and last. I'm hearing that these foam seals rot out and there has been expensive floor damage in some cases. It's cheaper to hire a plumber to put a wax seal in (if I can't do it myself) than hire a contractor to replace the floor down the line.
Agree, the wax more trust than rubber. I use wax 27 years. No problem at all if toilet never shaking. This rubber seal was used only a few times in my practice in places, where the wax no way to install.
@@FixitAll Okay, now I understand why you went with the rubber seal. I've used the rubber wedges they sell in the gap(s) at the base of the toilet to prevent toilet rocking. It has been good for about 24 years now.
Was that a 4 inch flange? I thought they were all the same size
I didn't measure it, but from my experience installing hundreds of wax rings, this hole was much wider because the wax couldn't stay on that cast iron flat surface. As you can see at 1:00, there will probably only be 1/4″ of the outer edge left on the flange. This means that the moment I drop the toilet on top of this wax (if I use wax), the wax just falls down the hole.
Hire is a video with cast iron flange too. But this flange has standard hole, and result more flat surface. Even iron has coned shape inside the hole and gasket wax black plastic cone was fit just perfect in it. ua-cam.com/video/5eFL7lgmmQE/v-deo.htmlsi=FjCYEhnclkpDu6zW

Another idiot showing off his ignorance
You're right, but idiot to idiot is very different. I am idiot with 27 year of shower experience, without single shower fail.
2:37 Are you supposed to drill through the vinyl siding like that? I've read that you aren't supposed to, but I'm not sure what to believe.
This is cement siding (hardybecker).
You must remove (cut-off) vinyl siding, install weather flashing and paper/plastic sealer around than attach the bracket to the wood.
@@FixitAll Thank you for the clarification and for the instructions!
I'm kind of new to this. How do I tell if I have vinyl or cement siding? They both look the same to me
@@kurii- Cement board 1/4" thick. Vinyl 1/16" and flexible.
Good job
Thanks!
The video I hoped existed. This is the type of setup I got. Just started leaking from the ceiling, spoiled my day. Was able to loosen the compression nut with a blow torch and penetrating oil, but the pipe between the two is rumbling while rying to remove it. Good to know there's a kit to replace the whole thing! 🙏🙌
